Welcome to my website! I am an assistant professor in the Department of Economics at The Pennsylvania State University. During the 2019-2020 academic year I’m visiting the Development Research Institute at NYU and the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.
My research focuses on methodological issues in development economics. One strand of my work involves making externally valid causal effect predictions. The second concerns the effect of interactions between regulations, informality, and state capacity on allocative efficiency.
